The project kick-off meeting was held on 6-7 November 2023 in Barcelona. GATE was represented by prof. Dessislava Petrova-Antonova, Research Group Lead, and Kaloyan Karamitov, Head of the City Living Lab.
The deployEMDS consortium comprises a broad set of stakeholders including public and private partners, cities and regions, technical partners, local coordination partners, governance partners and research institutes. Sofia Urban Mobility Centre and Sofia Municipality also partners in the project. GATE undertakes the role of a technical partner and local use case coordinator that will support Sofia municipality in the deployment of a local implementation project. Under the project, a new mobility app for journey planning will be developed. The deployment of a multimodal mobility solution will lower carbon emissions and contribute to citizens’ behaviour change through improved situational awareness and modal shifting to more sustainable modes, such as public transportation, e-scooter, e-bikes, and other shared mobility solutions such as e-cars.
