Iglika Ivanova is a PhD candidate and lecturer at Sofia University whose work bridges media, technology, and democracy, focusing on media and information literacy, platform governance, and information integrity in the EU context. She approaches teaching as a mutually inspiring exchange that fosters critical thinking and civic agency in students across courses such as Information Policy of the European Union, Political and Civic Cultures Online, and European Approach to Media Literacy. Her professional experience spans academia, public administration, media, and civil society (including roles currently held at the Media Literacy Coalition and Digital Republic and many years in digital media outlets). At the GATE Institute, she is part of the Intelligent Government Department. She has authored research on media policy, media literacy, platform liability and disinformation, with her publications accessible via ORCID. Beyond research, she leads community-building, training, and Wikipedia-driven media literacy projects. Musician and melophile.
