The GATE Institute presented its capabilities as a NATO test center for new technologies to companies in the sector

The Institute “Big data for Smart Society” (GATE) participated as a test center for new technologies from the DIANA network in an information meeting to present the NATO Innovation Fund and the Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA). Event organizers were the Ministries of Innovation and Growth, Defense and Economy and Industry. The event held on 24 April 2023, also featured the Institute of Defense “Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov”, the other test center of DIANA in Bulgaria.  

Webinar on Media Literacy in Southern Europe

A webinar on media literacy at a national and regional level will be organized by the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO). The meeting will be on March 22, 2023,  from 15:00 to 16:15. GATE heads a regional hub to combat disinformation

The kick-off meeting of the international project to create the Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory for Digital Media (BROD) took place on January 26-27, 2023, in Sofia. In it, the “Big Data for Smart  Society” – GATE Institute  – at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” heads a regional hub for combating disinformation. The project is funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency. Its coordinator is GATE and it includes 11 other partners from five European countries, including Agence France-Presse and Bulgarian National Television. Its duration is until May 31, 2025.

GATE initiated the first Bulgarian data space

On November 9, 2022, the first Urban Data Space in Bulgaria was officially launched, where different organizations can share and access data for developing new business products and improving services in the city.

GATE becomes a NATO test centre for new technologies

Today, 7 April, during the meetings of the NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, the Alliance took the next step in its efforts in the area of new technologies.
