GATE is a partner in a new cybersecurity project

The CyberTwin project “Reinforcing the Scientific Excellence and Innovation Capacity in Cyber Security through Twinning”, aims to boost the scientific excellence and innovation capacity and to increase the international visibility of the Bulgarian project partners in the field of cybersecurity by networking and twinning with two internationally-leading research institutions – KU Leuven (KUL) and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano (FPM).

Thirty-Fifth AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-21)

The purpose of the AAAI conference is to promote research in artificial intelligence (AI) and scientific exchange among AI researchers, practitioners, scientists, and engineers in affiliated disciplines. AAAI-21 will have a diverse technical track, student abstracts, poster sessions, invited speakers, tutorials, workshops, and exhibit and competition programs, all selected according to the highest reviewing standards.

GATE Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Forum

The first annual event of the GATE Institute took place on December 10th, 2020, online. The Big Data and Artificial intelligence forum (BDAIF) aimed to demonstrate how Big Data and Artificial Intelligence can tackle society’s problems, to enable the exchange of ideas with leading researchers – partners of GATE, to present the results and raise awareness of the activities of the institute. It was organized in collaboration between the GATE Institute, Bulgaria and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.

GATE participated in a virtual discussion about the future cities

Assoc. Prof. Desislava Petrova-Antonova, Research Leader of the application area “Future Cities” at the GATE Institute, participated in a discussion on the topic “Would future cities be smarter after Covid-19?”.

GATE’s place in the regional Аrtificial Intelligence ecosystem

The Director of the GATE Institute, Prof. Silvia Ilieva, participated in a virtual panel on December 3, 2020, dedicated to the artificial intelligence community in Central and Eastern Europe, as part of the programme of the Romanian AI Days.

GATE was part of the “European Researchers’ Night”

For a second consecutive year, the GATE Institute took part in the “European Researchers’ Night” that was held on 27-28 November 2020.
