Dr. Georgi Petkov, head of the application domain “Digital Health” at the GATE Institute, was among the participants in the 11th edition of Pharma Forum, organized by “Manager” magazine. Together with the Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Ilko Getov, he took part in the discussion “The role of business in the transformation”, which was moderated by the macroeconomist and expert in health economics, Arkadi Sharkov.    

The director of the Institute ” Big Data for Smart Society ” (GATE), Prof. Silvia Ilieva, received the Award for special contribution to the development of information and communication technologies at the 13th “BAIT Awards 2023”.      

The Director of GATE, Prof. Silvia Ilieva, was among the speakers at the 10th edition of Innovation Explorer. She participated in a panel that discussed the conditions necessary to create a favourable environment for the development of innovative start-up companies.      

Further development of the cooperation between Sofia Municipality and GATE was discussed at a working meeting of the Deputy Mayor for Digitization and Innovation, Ivan Goychev, and a team of the Institute.      

The GATE Institute, in its capacity of a NATO test center in big data and AI, was among the participants in the High Level Conference and Industry Day “Growing Defence Industry Support Needs and Innovation Opportunities”, held on 6 February 2024, in the “John Atanasov” hall of Sofia Tech Park.      

The “Big Data for Smart Society” Institute became part of the initiative “Ambassador for a day” of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel. The director of GATE Prof. Silvia Ilieva welcomed and introduced H.E. Andrea Ikic-Böhm to  the activities of the prestigious scientific organization and its developments in the field of big data and artificial intelligence.
