Disruptive technologies for defence and resilience will be in the focus of a panel during the annual forum „Up to Gate: Technology, Big Data & Beyond. Open Up for Innovation”, which will mark the opening of the Institute’s new building.

Counteracting disinformation in Bulgaria and Romania – a focus of a panel at the annual conference “Up to GATE. Open Up for Innovation”

The dedicated panel is entitled “Evaluating the Code of practice (CoP) on disinformation in Bulgaria and Romania – measuring compliance, mapping challenges and setting expectations”. It engages in a comprehensive exploration of the important efforts at evaluating VLOSE and VLOPs efforts to comply with the Code of Practice on Disinformation. Beginning with two original pieces of work done by GATE and the Bulgarian Romanian Observatory on Digital Media (BROD) in evaluating compliance with the Code.

The future of sustainable cities through digital twins and AI – in the focus of “Up to GATE. Open Up for Innovation”

Urban Digital Twins, using artificial intelligence (AI) methods, have a key role in the quest for the construction and development of sustainable and smart cities. “Future Cities” will be the focus of the panel “Shaping the Future of Sustainable Cities with Urban Digital Twins and f AI” during the annual conference “Up to GATE. Technology, Big Data & Beyond. Open Up for Innovation”, which will be held on December 5 and 6. It will also mark the opening of the GATE’s new high-tech building.

GATE participates in China’s largest high-tech fair

GATE is one of the five Bulgarian organisations participating in the 25th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF). It takes place in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, from November 15 to 19, 2023. Participants from more than 100 countries and regions are exhibiting their cutting-edge products and technologies on the record-breaking 500,000 square meter exhibition area.

NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic Chief of Staff to visit GATE

The Chief of Staff of NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) Moritz Zimmermann arrives in Bulgaria on November 16, 2023. This is one of his first visits to this post. Zimmermann will visit the Institute “Big data for smart society” (GATE), which from 2022 is NATO’s test centre in the field of big data and artificial intelligence. He will familiarize himself with the high-tech structure of GATE, which the institute will use to provide a range of testing and verification services covering different levels of technological readiness against established European standards.
