GATE Institute is co-hosting the GATE-AEC Hackathon Sofia with the renowned AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) Hackathon organizers, marking the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. Anticipating participants from around the world, the event takes place from December 8th to 10th, 2023.   

For the second consecutive year, the GATE Institute was a co-organizer of the “Technologies Against Disinformation 2.0” conference. The forum revealed the current trends in the information war in the digital space, examined methodologies for detecting manipulative content and presented technological solutions developed in Bulgaria to combat disinformation. With the participation of academia, companies and non-governmental organizations, the event became a significant step towards creating an ecosystem of stakeholders to combat disinformation.

GATE Institute is a partner in a new project –  deployEMDS (European Mobility Data Space). Funded by the Digital Europe Programme, the project will contribute to the further development of the common European mobility data space built and operated in full compliance with the existing EU legislation in the mobility and transport sectors. It will pioneer data spaces in 9 regions. With 20 plus use cases, the initiative will enhance secure data sharing for a trusted European data ecosystem.

For a second consecutive year, GATE Institute is a co-organizer of the “Technologies Against Disinformation” conference, which will be held on November 7, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Sofia and online.

This year, GATE Institute participated again in the “European Researchers’ Night” – the event that reveals the human face of science and shows in a user-friendly manner how scientific achievements change people’s lives. It took place on September 29 – 30. The GATE’s stand was situated in the Rectorate of Sofia University.

The director of GATE, Prof. Silvia Ilieva, was invited to participate in the event SpinOff Bulgaria ’23 and Information Day of “Horizon Europe”, which took place on September 28-29, 2023 in Sofia.
