The European Big Data Value Forum 2022 took place on November 21-23, in Prague, with a central theme of “At the Heart of the Ecosystem for Data and AI”. The event brought together industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policy-makers worldwide with the aim to advance policy actions, and industrial and research activities in the areas of Data and AI. Traditionally, GATE was among the participating organizations.

On November 9, 2022, the first Urban Data Space in Bulgaria was officially launched, where different organizations can share and access data for developing new business products and improving services in the city.

GATE participated in the First European Teaming Conference that took place at the end of October in Limassol, Cyprus. The event gathered all 24 European Centres of Excellence (CoEs), funded under the Horizon 2020 “Teaming for Excellence” Programme, representatives of the European Commission and the Research Executive Agency, as well as stakeholders from the national research and innovation ecosystem in Cyprus

GATE and the University of Twente (ITC) organised the seminar on “AI-driven City Digital Twins”, which took place in October, in the Netherlands.

Prof. Dessislava Petrova-Antonova, research group leader at GATE Institute and Kaloyan Karamitov, City Living Lab Manager, participated in the 7th Smart Data Smart Cities (SDSC) & 17th 3D GeoInfo Joint International Conferences, which took place at Sydney, Australia on 18-21 October 2022.

The event, hosted by GATE and IDSA together with partnering organizations and companies from the Bulgarian and European data-sharing ecosystem will bring together enthusiasts from Europe into an interactive discussion on the building blocks and enablers, and demonstrate the business value of sovereign data sharing.
