GATE at the Data Spaces Symposium in Hague

From March 21 to 23, 2023, GATE representatives will visit Hague, the Netherlands, to attend the Data Spaces Symposium and Deep-Dive Day – the biggest data spaces event ever. Bringing together industry leaders, government representatives, and private sector innovators, the event will provide a unique platform to explore, assess, and map out the future of data spaces.

GATE brings together participants in the Urban Data Space

GATE organised an interactive workshop aimed at current Urban Data Space participants as well as organizations that have expressed interest in joining.

CEM meeting with GATE on the BROD project

(CEM) A meeting was held at the Council for Electronic Media between the members of the CEM and the project managers for the GATE’s project Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory for Digital Media – BROD –  Prof. Silvia Ilieva, project coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Milena Dobreva, scientific coordinator and Borislav Bankov, organizational manager.

GATE heads a regional hub to combat disinformation

On January 26-27, 2023, the kick-off meeting of the international project to create the Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory for Digital Media (BROD) took place in Sofia. In it, the “Big Data for Smart  Society” – GATE Institute  – at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” heads a regional hub for combating disinformation. The project is funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency. Its coordinator is GATE and it includes 11 other partners from five European countries, including Agence France-Presse and Bulgarian National Television. Its duration is until May 31, 2025.

GATE’s week of events “United Against Disinformation”

The last week of January 2023 will pass under the motto “United against disinformation” and will be dedicated to events organized by the Institute “Big data for smart society” – GATE at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The events are part of GATE’s commitment to use technology and big data in areas where they are particularly needed and useful to society.

Winter workshop on recognizing false Information and disinformation

GATE Institute organizes a “Winter Workshop on Recognizing False Information and Disinformation” under the TRACES project. The training will take place on January 25 and 26, 2023 in the city of Sofia in the Mirror Hall of the Rectorate of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Sofia.
