GATE participated in the Smart and Sustainable Cities webinar

What will the future cities look like? Can we leverage the technology and form partnerships that contribute to an eco-friendly economy, drive inclusiveness and reduce inequality? How to create a positive impact for the communities and the environment? These were the issues raised at the webinar ‘’Smart and Sustainable cities – building an ecosystem for a better future through innovation’’ in the launch of the Visa Innovation Program 2022, held on 24 February. GATE was recently accepted as a research and technology partner for the Smart Cities Challenges in Visa.

Digital Twins for Smart City Control Workshop

GATE Institute at Sofia University, Bulgaria, and Digital Twins Cities Centre of the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden are organizing the Digital Twins for Smart City Control Workshop. It will be held as a satellite event of IFAC Workshop Control for Smart Cities – CSC 2022 (https://csc2022.sai-bg.com/) that will take place on 27-30 June 2022, in Sozopol, Bulgaria.

GATE signed an MoU with the University of Twente

GATE Institute at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty Geo-information and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente at an exciting virtual ceremony on 26 January 2022.

GATE – an active participant in the building of data spaces

The Director of the GATE Institute, Prof. Silvia Ilieva, participated in an online discussion on “National dimensions of the pan-European policy for open data, high-value data and data spaces”, organized by the State E-Government Agency (SEGA). The event focused on data processing, modelling, sharing, management and decision making, including data-based policymaking, also of open data. It was part of the initiative of SEGA “Open Data Days”, which are held in the period 13-19 December 2021.

GATЕ annual Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Forum 2021

The Second GATE Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Forum (BDAIF2021) that was held on 8 – 9 December, online, highlighted the scientific results and technological achievements of the Institute in its second year and outlined the perspectives in further research and collaboration. The event was organized jointly by the GATE Institute, Bulgaria and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
